JAMES L. “PAPPY” MANNING

James L. “Pappy” Manning, 79, passed away on November 26, 2014. He was born September 15, 1935 in Pitt County to the late Lindsey and Lovie Harris Manning.  In addition to his parents,  James was  preceded in death by his wife, Bertha T. Manning, and his brother, Landris Manning. 
He is survived by his sons, Tommy Tompkins and his wife, Shirley, Allen Tompkins; daughter, Dolly Tompkins;  brothers, Edward, Robert, and Thomas Manning; sister, Fay Manning; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild
Memorial service will be held, Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Englewood Baptist Church.
Arrangements by Cornerstone Funeral Home and Cremations, Nashville.
