James Madison Finch

BAILEY - James Madison Finch, 71, of Bailey died Thursday. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Vassar will officiate.

He was born in Franklin County to the late George and Nannie Mae Finch. He married his wife, Lucy on December 23, 1961 and moved to Bailey in 1978. He was owner - operator of James Finch Chevrolet and LBJ Chevrolet - Buick. He took an active part in the businesses. Mr. Finch also was a community and business leader. He always found time to be a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather and friend to many people.

Mr. Finch is survived by his wife, Lucy Wester Finch; a daughter, Bridget Tyson and husband, Mike Tyson of Bailey; a granddaughter, Madison Tyson; a grandson, Nicholas Tyson; two sisters, Frances Vassar of Louisburg and Nan Eubanks of Raeford; four brothers, John Finch of Wake Forest, Dorsett Finch of Youngsville, Gerald Finch and Joe Finch both of Louisburg; a sister-in-law, Doza Champion, her four daughters, Helen Coats, Robin Denton, Ginger Champion and Patsy Yates and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, George Finch Jr.

The family will receive friends 6 – 9 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and at other times at 11040 Liles Road, Bailey.
