NASHVILLE - Gerald Carlett Coggin, Jr. 66, died Monday, August 18, 2014. He was born August 11, 1948 in Nash County, son of the late Gerald and Myrtle Coggin.  In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Sykes Coggin.
He is survived by sons, Benjamin Coggin, Joseph Coggin and fiancé Megan Webb; daughter, Carly Coggin and fiancé Zack Varnadore; three grandchildren; daughter in law, Cindy Coggin; sisters in law, Jennifer Sykes Braxton, Julia Sykes Wheeler and Joan Sykes Smith; brother in law, JC Sykes, and several cousins.
 A funeral service  will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2014 with Rev. Vernon Potter officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Nashville.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home.
