Benjamin Franklin “Red” Carr 77, of Cartwright, Oklahoma passed away Monday June 2, 2014 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. He was born October 4, 1936 in Nashville, North Carolina to Albert Council and Bettie Lee Breedlove Carr, Sr. He had five brothers and eight sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Maxine; brothers Albert C. Carr, Jr. and Eugene Carr; sisters Mary Evans, Bessie Evans, Sarah Evans Strickland and Amanda Carr. He is survived by sons Bobby Carr of Cartwright and Larry Joe Carr of Hollis, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers Howard Carr and wife Kate of Florida, Phil Carr of Nashville, NC, Ralph Carr of Gastonia, NC Nancy Carr Tempa Platt and Marie Moore and husband Herbert all of Nashville, NC and Jane Dority and husband Bobby of California. A funeral service was held Thursday June 5, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Cartwright, Oklahoma with James “J.D.” Rice and Jim Teal officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert. Arrangements by Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma. |
