Nellie Robbins Stone, age 89, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014. She was born in Wilson County, daughter of the late Charlie Daniel Robbins and Gertie Edwards Robbins. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Turner Stone.
She is survived by sons: Alvin Joyner and wife Jerrlyn of Rocky Mount, Delbert Joyner and friend Patsy Gates of Newport and Philip “Phil” Joyner of Rocky Mount; sister; Frances Melvin of Rocky Mount; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A funeral service was held Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Webb and Paul Tedder officiating.  Burial  followed in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Wilson.
