Susie Leonard Bartholomew, age 80, passed away  Monday, March 24, 2014. Born in Franklin County on March 18, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Eugene B. Leonard and Lillie Valentine Leonard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert “Dick” G. Bartholomew; sisters, Mary L. Nash, Pansy L. German, Rochelle L. Hayes and Nancy Leonard; and brother, Wilton Eugene Leonard.
She is survived by her daughter, Gina Bartholomew; and son, Tim Bartholomew, both of Rocky Mount; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Marjorie L. Dickerson and Nell L. Wrenn, both of Louisburg; and brother, Sam Leonard of Louisburg.
A funeral service was held Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Sunset Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Robin Fisher and Rev. Shelby Stephens officiating.  A private family burial  followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
