WALTER GRAY “BRO” RICH, JR.

Walter Gray “Bro” Rich, Jr.  was born December 6, 1927, in Nash County and departed this life December 9, 2013 after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Walter G. “Post” and Ethel Downey Rich. Preceding him in death were his sisters Evelyn Strum, Elsie Mae Coggin, Ida Crutchfield, Roxie Stewart and a nephew, Richard Teasley.
He is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Major General James A. Coggin, United States Army, Retired (Donna); Gayle Strum Miller (Barry); Edith Coggin Whitby (David); Anita Crutchfield Jones(Robert); Stephen Crutchfield (Melanie); Michael Teasley (Anna); Lisa Teasley Putnam and several great nieces and nephews.
The family thanks the staff and management of Magnolia Gardens in Warrenton, NC for the excellent care he received during his long time residency.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Rich Family Cemetery on Lancaster Store Road, Castalia, NC.
Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
