Doreen May Council, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Born in Brisbane Queensland, Australia on January 1, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Henrich Stegmann and Alma Love Stegmann. She was also preceded in death by husband, Julian Council and her daughter, Mary Love Council Todd.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Harman and husband Allen of Pulaski, Virginia; son-in-law, Larry Todd of Rocky Mount; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Myers, Isabel Hughes, and Mary Nowitzki; and brother, Billy Stegmann.
A graveside service was held Friday, December 6, 2013 at Pineview Cemetery with Rev. Steven Harduk officiating.
