ELISHA THOMAS “TOM” JOYNER

Elisha Thomas “Tom” Joyner passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013.  He was 93.  Born in Nash County on January 20, 1920. He was the son of the late Lemon Littleton Joyner and Esther Pittman Joyner. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Dean Joyner. 
Tom is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret Harrison “Mickey” Joyner, of Rocky Mount and a son, Michael Thomas Joyner, of Raleigh; sister-in-law, Virginia Baker, of Swansboro; sister-in-law, Bonnie Strickland, of Rocky Mount.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Arlington Baptist Church, 1500 Bethlehem Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27803.
A funeral service was held Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Arlington Baptist Church with the Pastor Tim Lowry and Pastor Carlton Cockrell officiating.  Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Rocky Mount.
Arrangements by Cornerstone Funeral Home and Cremations in Nashville.
