MYRTLE HAWKINS HARPER

Myrtle H. Harper, 91, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013. She was born on May 5, 1922 to the late Dee and Sally Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Harper;  son-in-law’s Aster Griffin and Ted Beichner; brothers, Jesse, Lonnie and Johnny Hawkins; sisters, Betty Leonard, Nellie Leonard, Hazel Allen and Annie Laura Harper and a grandson, Ray Griffin.
She is survived by her sons, Luther ‘Pete” Harper, Jr. and Johnnie Ray Harper (Adela); daughters, Linda Taylor(David), Bettie Jean Chapman, Nancie Griffin, Frances Collins(Joe), Martha Beichner, Marie Rice(Ricky) and Sue Ellen Bissette(Mickey); brother, Dee Hawkins, Jr.; sister, Sally Lunsford; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Monday, September 30, 2013 at 2 pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Nashville, NC.   Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
