RUTH HAZEL MATTHEWS SMITH
Ruth “Hazel” Matthews Smith passed away on Saturday July 27, 2013. She was born January 31, 1924 in Nash County to the late Charles Daniel Matthews Sr. and Mary Menda Rich Matthews.

Hazel is survived by one son Barry Smith of Orlando Florida and two sisters Rachel M. Joyner and Alice Mae Allen, both of Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Barrington Smith; four brothers Willie Gray Matthews, Horace Greely Matthews Sr., Henry Clay Matthews and Charles Daniel Matthews Jr.; four sisters Beulah Mae Matthews, Addie Lee Rowe, Pauline Grace Privette and Lucile Hermann.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the charity of your personal choice. Burial with a private graveside service will be held at Peachtree Baptist Church Cemetery in Spring Hope.
