Cynthia W. Howell Brinkley of Castalia, 56, died Monday, July 15, at Universal Health Care of Nashville.

Funeral services were Saturday, July 20, at 1 p.m. at the St. Hope Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was Friday from 3-7 p.m. at William Toney’s Funeral Home in Spring Hope.

Survivors include her daughter, Jackie Howell of Castalia; one granddaughter; stepfather, Natheal Battle of Spring Hope; sisters, Michelle Millie of Newark, N.J., Linda Macklin (Steven) and Sandra Macklin of Nashville; brothers, Ricky Battle of Rocky Mount, James “Nick” Battle and Terry Battle of Nashville, Charlie Higgs of Newark N.J.; a host of aunts, uncles other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to William Toney’s of Spring Hope.
