Edith Matthews Harrison, 88, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013 at home. She was born September 28, 1924 in Franklin County.

She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Joyner of Rocky Mount and Jean and son-in-law Al Pridgen of Nashville; sons, Kerney and daughter-in-law Bridget Harrison of Nashville and Randy Harrison of the home; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kerney Swept Harrison, father Batt J. Matthews, mother Pattie Bowden Matthews, sisters, Mable Moore and Lucille Stewart; and son-in-law Roger Joyner.

Graveside services were  held May 30, 2013 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Phillip Barton officiating.

Arrangements by Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home, Rocky Mount.
