Local Scout wins District Pinewood Derby

Sixty scouts competed in the Tar River District 2013 Pinewood Derby Championship on Saturday, March 2 at Golden East Crossing Mall in Rocky Mount.

Reagan Davis, a scout from the Coopers Pack 37, was named the District Champion.

Three other Coopers Pack 37 Scouts also placed in the top three in competitions.

Reagan Davis placed first in Tigers race with Chase Wheeler and Drake Way, both of Pack 816, placing second and third, respectively. Ten scouts participated in the Tigers race.

For the Wolves race, Carson White, of Pack 16, was first place with Chase Anderson of Pack 49 in second and Austin Moss, of Pack 37, in third place. Twenty-two scouts participated in the Wolves race.

In the Bears race, Landon Barry, of Pack 961, received first place, with Carter Baker and Mason Baker, both of Pack 37, receiving second and third, respectively. Twelve scouts participated in the Bears race.

For Webelos, Grant Dew, of Pack 961, received first place, with Matt Wilson, of Pack 49 and Matthew Wood, of Pack 148, received second and third. Sixteen scouts participated in the Webelos race.
