Local students graduate from Appalachian State
Nash County residents were among the 1,400 spring graduates at Appalachian State University.

Nashville resident Donte G. Roach received a Master of Arts in Community Counseling.

Spring Hope resident Michael David McDaniel received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.

Whitakers resident Rebecca Anne Yenney received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Yenney graduated Cum Laude.

Rocky Mount residents receiving Bachelor degrees included Jamie Renee Breedlove, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Jonathan E. Williams, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. Williams graduated Cum Laude.

Other Nash County residents listed as receiving degrees include Marissa Jean Kish, who received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Ecology and Environ Biology.

Several Nash County residents were also named to ASU's honor roll.

Sarah E. Johnson, of Rocky Mount, was named to ASU's Dean's and Chancellor's List. She is a junior majoring in Elementary Education.

Other Rocky Mount residents named to the Dean's List include Cameron S. Barker, a senior management major, Steve Elijah Boykin, a freshman social work major, Steven B. Howell, a freshman graphic arts and imaging technology major and Brandon S. Piner, a junior majoring in communication.

Other Nash County residents named to the Dean's List included Sara Marie Bunn, a junior social work major Nicholas Jon Ellwein, a senior building sciences major, Logan Keith Langley, a sophomore english major and Kyle Dustin Speight, a sophomore majoring in Building Sciences.

To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must either be enrolled for 12 to 14 hours of academic credit and attain a 3.45 grade point average or be enrolled in 15 or more hours of academic credit and attain a 3.25 grade point average.

To qualify for the Chancellor's List, a student must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 hours of academic credit and attain a 3.85 grade point average. Students on the Chancellor's List also qualify for the University's Dean's list.
