ALTON WAYNE FREEMAN
LOUISBURG – Alton Wayne Freeman, 86, died Friday, June 8, 2007. A gathering to celebrate his life was held on Tuesday at Forest Hill Cemetery in Nashville with Father Phil Tighe officiating. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, Nashville.

He was born in Halifax County on July 28, 1920, to the late Lee and Mary Smith Freeman. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Lee Freeman.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Morris Freeman of the home; sons, Howard Wayne Freeman of Louisburg and Butch Freeman of Nashville; daughters Ellen Paulette McKearin of Benson and Sheila Olivia Rowland of Hollywood, Md.; sisters Joyce Smith Frances Brown and Mavis Richardson, all of Rocky Mount; brothers Howard and Chesley Freeman , both of Rocky Mount; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and special pet, Mocha.

Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Catholic Church, 331 Hammond St., Rocky Mount, NC 27803.
