Shirley Ruffin English, 74, passed away on September 18, 2012. She was born in Rocky Mount on December 21st 1937 to the late Paul Raymond Ruffin and Lula Mae McLemore Ruffin. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Edward English; her brother Paul Ruffin, Jr. and her sister Betty Jean Salter.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Ed English; three children: Kim Jernigan of Burlington, Cathy Clark of Morganton, and Ken English and his wife Wanda of Acworth Georgia; seven grandchildren; her brother, Mack Ruffin and his wife Jeannie of Rocky Mount; and her sister, Linda Armstrong of Rocky Mount.
A service to remember Shirley was held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Carleton McKita officiating. Burial followed at Pineview Cemetery.
