MARIE BLACKBURN BASS
Marie Blackburn Bass, 86, passed away Thursday March 15, 2012. She was born in Rocky Mount March 2, 1926, to the late Fred and Faye Blackburn. She is also preceded in death by her son Wayne Taylor, her sister Dorothy “Dot” Pridgen, her brother Herbert Blackburn, her husband’s Harvey T. Taylor, Melvin King and A.R. Bass.

She is survived by three daughters; Linda Melton and husband Joe of Whitakers, Dianne Lewis and husband Henry of Nashville, Sylvia Luper and husband Tim of Dortches; nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild.

A funeral service was held Saturday, March 17, 2012 in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Rev. James and Diania Blackburn officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
