Doris Minshew Nelms, 70, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012. She was born in Wilson County on December 24, 1941, daughter of the late Robert and Alberta Bunn Minshew. She preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Gail Nelms.
She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Lonnie R. Nelms of the home; her daughter, Sandra N. Williams and husband, Allen of Battleboro; two grandchildren; brothers, David Minshew of Rocky Mount, Bobby Minshew of Nashville, Danny Minshew of Tenn.; sister, Betty Allison of Rocky Mount and Josephine Culpepper of Norfolk, VA.
A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 at Forest Hills Cemetery with Pastor Daniel West officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association, 3131 RDU Center Drive #100, Morrisville, NC 27560-7687.
