AVIS S. COOKE, Pemberton, N.J. resident
Avis S. Cooke, 79, of Pemberton Borough, died May 18, 2006 at Virtua Hospital, Mount Holly.

A native of Nashville, he traveled the world during his career to Japan, Germany and Korea and then settling in Pemberton in 1962. He was a retired Platoon Sergeant with twenty years in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He also retired after 22 years as a Mill Man for Occidental Chemical Co., Florence.

Beloved husband of June A. (nee Schmitt); dear father of John S. Cooke and wife Gudrun of Honolulu, HI, Ronald K. Cooke and wife Kathy of Pemberton, Twp., Robert T. Cooke of Pemberton Borough and Nora O'Byrne and husband William of Lumberton; brother Bruce Cooke and Florine Braswell of Nashville, and grandfather of Corinne Cooke and Isabella and William O'Byrne.

Funeral services were held at teh convnience of the family. Interment BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Anreytown.

Professional services entrusted to The Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth St., Pemberton Borough.
