MURDIE LEIGH BOONE MURRAY
ELM CITY - Murdie Leigh Boone Murray, 92, passed away on Friday November 25, 2011.   She was born April 2, 1919 in Nash County. Murdie was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Wallace Harold Murray and her son, Frank Harold Murray. 

 She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Murray Johnson of Apex and Beverly Dawn Murray Joyner and husband Carson of Ellenboro.  She is also survived by her brother James W. “Bunk” Boone and wife, Evelyn of Elm City, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  

The funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home.  Burial followed afterwards at the Boone Family Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Vaughan’s Chapel Church, 7261 Vaughan Chapel Road, Elm City, NC 27822 or to Hospice of Forest City, 374 Hudlow Road, Forest City, NC 28043
