SPRING HOPE - Doris Taylor Wood, 87, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Floyd Taylor and Blanche Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Wood, and her brothers, Kendrick Taylor and Lester Herring, Jr.
Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn Bass of Greensboro and Cindy Wood of Spring Hope; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.She is also survived by her sisters Eloise Tallman, Joyce LaMotte, and Faye Caraway; brother, James Herring; and sister-in-law Ruth Taylor.
A memorial service was held 2 p.m. on Thursday. November 17, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Spring Hope.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Nash, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
