James Carlos Moore, 73, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011. He was born August 30, 1938 in Edgecombe County. He was the son of the late Walter R. Moore and Georgia Walston Moore. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, W.R. “Jim” Moore, Jr.; sister, Etta Moore Umstead; and a niece, Georgia Willoughby.
He is survived by his wife Norma Braswell Moore of Rocky Mount; brother, Charles B. Moore of Rocky Mount; sisters, Adeline Becknell and husband Bob of Greensboro and Lou Davis of Greenville.
Funeral services were held November 12 at Johnson’s Chapel. Internment was at Pineview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be to West Edgecombe Baptist Church, 13821 NC 43 N, Rocky Mount, NC 27801.
