Rebecca Ann Joyner Sherrod, age 72 passed away on November 5, 2011.
She was born on December 19, 1938 to the late Frank Daughtry and Maggie Vick Joyner of Nash County.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, husband: Andrew J. Sherrod, Sr. and brother, William D. ‘Billy’ Joyner.
She is survived by her son Michael Harper and wife Jan of Nashville; one grandson; sisters Marie J. Daughtridge, Audrey J. Thompson (Floyd), Mateline J. Moss (Bobby), Margaret J. Bullock (Mike) all of Rocky Mount, Barbara J. Barnes (Billy) of Jacksonville; several nieces and nephews, step daughters Deborah S. Kerris and Sandra S. Snider, step son Andrew J. Sherrod, Jr. all of Fla.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Forrest Hills cemetery with the Rev. Dan Davis officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the United Hospice of Eastern North Carolina, 301 South Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount.
