ERNESTINE VAN HOOK LEONARD
ROANOKE RAPIDS - Ernestine Van Hook Leonard, age 87 of Roanoke Rapids, died Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids.

She  was born October 7, 1924 in Nash County, the daughter of the late Joseph William Van Hook and Savannah Victoria Rackley Van Hook. She was also predeceased by her husband Kemp Battle Leonard and a sister, Jean Van Hook Hathaway.

Survivors include: daughters, Susan L. Stephenson and her husband Barham of Garysburg, and Judy L. Collins and her husband Vance of Roanoke Rapids; brother, David Victor Van Hook of Virginia Beach, VA; and four grandchildren.

 Funeral services were held, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.  Graveside services were at Forest Hills Cemetery in Nashville at 2:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
