BIRDIE MOSLEY SMITHSON
Birdie Mosley Smithson, 89, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Born in Nash County on May 8, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Peter A. Mosley and Estelle Joyner Mosley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Smithson; sisters, Mattie M. Denton, Thelma M. Edwards, Maggie M. Barnes, Lynda Bell M. Bone, Kassie Mae M. Lancaster, Kathleen M. Lewis, Bertha M. Coley, Margie M. Bone, Ruth M. Moore; brothers, Leon V. Mosley and J. Fred Mosley. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church, 1825 Bethlehem Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27803.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with the Rev. Jacky Raper officiating.Burial followed at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount.
