Margie Snipes Rice, 87, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2011. She was born September 24, 1923 in Wilson County.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Everett “Doug” Rice; sons, Ken Hyde of Shelbyville , KY, Steven Rice of Wilmington, Relmond Rice of Springfield, MO, Rodney Rice of DuQuoin, IL, and Mike Rice of Elkville, IL; sister, Marietta Batchelor of Nashville; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Cornerstone Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Bateman and Rev. Dudley officiating. Burial followed at Black Creek Cemetery, Black Creek, NC.
