EVELYN THOMPSON WILSON
Evelyn Thompson Wilson, 83, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011. Born in Halifax County on January 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Thompson and Minnie Bell Toppings. She was also preceded in death by husband, Robert Louis Wilson and brother, Horace Toppings of Elizabeth City.

She is survived by children, Willie Wilson of the home, Sheila Jarillo and husband Edmundo Mendez of Speed, Betty Pridgen and husband Lonnie of Sharpsburg, Martha Barnes and late husband Orvin of Salem, Gilliam Wilson and wife Kathy of Nashville, and Deborah Wilson of Angier; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Maxwell of High Point; and brother, Daniel Toppings of Houston TX.

A service to remember Evelyn was held at 12 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Allan Williams officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 4502 Swift Creek School Road, Whitakers NC 27891.
