MATTIE G. HARRIS

Mattie G. Harris, age 83 of Rocky Mount passed away on August 17, 2011 at her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Harris; mother and father Viola and Louis Garris; two brothers Edward and John Lee Garris; three sisters Lucille Farmer, Annie Pearl Perdue and Margie Garris.

She is survived by her son Marvin Harris Jr. of the home; daughter Patty and Johnny Radford of Rocky Mount; two grandsons; one great grandchild; and one sister, Hazel Mordica of Rocky Mount.

Funeral services were held August 19 in the chapel of Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Road, at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Calvin Hedgepeth and Rev. Swane Holloman. The interment was held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11a.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
