Robert Edward Cummings, age 75, passed away at Autumn Care Friday, August 19, 2011. Born in Nash County on January 1, 1936, he was the son of the late Marvin Edward and Viola Walker Cummings.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Stowe Cummings; two daughters, Debra Cummings Sims and husband Walter of Athens, AL; Lisa Cummings Watson and husband Scott of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren.
A graveside service to celebrate Bob’s life was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Battleboro Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Peede officiating and assisted by Rev. Horace Ward.
