Hubert Davis Barnes, 83, passed away Friday, May 06, 2011. He was born June 8, 1927 in Nash County. He was the son of the late Julius Edgar and Laura Davis Barnes. In addition to his parents his was preceded in death by his brothers, John D. Barnes, Lynwood Barnes, and William Barnes.
He is survived by his brother, Donald Barnes and wife Lois of Rocky Mount; sister, Leona Joyner of Rocky Mount; sisters-in-law, Rosa Lee Barnes of Rosenberg, TX and Judy Barnes of Emporia, VA; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2011 at Millbranch Cemetery with Rev. David Benson officiating. The family will receive friends other times at the home of Donald and Lois Barnes and Leona Joyner.
Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Funerals & Cremations, Rocky Mount.
