Perley C. Hurdle, 89, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Guardian Care of Rocky Mount. He was born in Gates County, NC, August 3, 1917. He was the son of the late Elisha N. Hurdle, Jr. and Clara Jones Hurdle. He was welder and a blacksmith for Seaboard Coastline Railroad. Perley was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved fishing and hunting.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of sixty years, Katherine Hurdle; two daughters, Mary Ann Kerr and husband James of Sharpsburg, GA, Earlene Kay Brown and husband Robert of Bailey; two grandchildren, Jason Pernell and Cameron Kerr.
The family received friends Tuesday, January 30, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Bowling Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be January 31, 2007 1:00 pm at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with the Rev. Dan Davis officiating. Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to United Hospice, Suite 122 Station Square, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
Arrangements are entrusted to Bowling Funeral Home and Crematory, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
