GREGORY ALAN EDWARDS
Mr. Gregory Alan Edwards, age 62, of Rocky Mount, NC, died Friday, February 18, 2011. Born September 1, 1948 in Aurora, IL, he was a son of the late Richard Lawrence Edwards and Charlene May Peaks Edwards of Greenville.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 38 years, Fannie Belle Rollins Edwards, also known as “Cotton”; two daughters, Sherry Haniotes and her husband, Michael, of San Tan Valley, AZ and Kimberly Morrisette and her husband, Craig, of Greenville, NC; a sister, Marcia Board and her husband, Mike, of Greenville, NC; a brother, Jim Edwards of Nashville, NC; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church of Rocky Mount. The Rev. Bob Bergland and the Rev. David Beam officiated. Burial will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain at a later date with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Rocky Mount Discretionary Fund, 100 South Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
