W. E. “BOBBY” JOYNER, JR.
W. E. “Bobby” Joyner, Jr. passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Guardian Care in Rocky Mount. He was born September 24, 1930 in Nash County, son of the late William Elisha and Mary Land Joyner. Bobby was one of twelve children, who all preceded him in death except for a younger sister, Seluda J. Johnson of Cheraw, South Carolina.

Bobby is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Florine Vaughan Joyner; two sons, William E. (Bill) Joyner, III and his wife Phyllis, and George R. “Randy” Joyner; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Reverend Ron Hawley officiating. Mr. Joyner will lie in state at the church from 10:00 until 11:00. Burial will follow at Land Family Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, February 8, 2011 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount.
