ROCKY MOUNT - Betty Moss Bissette, age 80, passed away on November 10, 2025. She was born in Nash County, NC on April 15, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Glemon Roy Moss and Pauline Hendricks Moss. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Moss and Roger Moss; and her sister, Shirley Pace.
Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, Frank Bissette; her daughter, Marla Tharrington and husband, Greg; one grandchild; her brother, Alan Moss; her sisters-in-law, Mateline Moss, Betty Faye Bissette, and Peggy Bissette; several nieces and nephews; and close friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Charles Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
