Drive by leaves child injured

An alleged drive by shooting left a 7 year-old girl with gun shot injuries Thursday evening.

Around 7:30 p.m., the Nash County Sheriff's Office responded to the 2000 block of Old White Oak Road in reference to a drive by shooting that just occurred. When units arrived on scene, they discovered that a 7 year-old female child, who had been in the living room of the home had been shot during the incident. The child had been shot in the shoulder/upper area of the body. EMS units arrived on scene and transported the child to Wake Med. At this time, her condition is unknown.
