Anne Ruth Ennis Kornegay died on March 9, 2013. She was born on March 19, 1922, to William Allison Ennis and Annie Rebecca Byrd Ennis, in Harnett County, who preceded her in death.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband Robert Dumais Kornegay Sr., brother, William Harold Ennis, and wife Ruth, of Erie, PA; infant James Ennis; and her daughter-in-law Debbie Slone Kornegay, Rocky Mount.

She is survived by her brother Edward Earl Ennis and wife Dorothy Ennis of Fayetteville; her sons William (Widgie) Ennis Kornegay, and Robert Dumais Kornegay, Jr, and fiancée Wendy Huffman; daughter Judith L. Kornegay, and husband, Nicholas A. Patrone, MD, all of Rocky Mount; 7  grandchildren

A graveside service was held Monday, March 11, 2013 at Pineview Cemetery with Rev. Mary Kathleen Duncan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Debbie’s Fund, the Imperial Center, the Braswell Memorial Library, or the First Presbyterian Church.
