PEARL MARIE WHICHARD

Pearl Marie Whichard, age 85, of Nashville, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. Born in Edgecombe County on November 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Willie Taylor and Mavis Hinton Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Wilson Whichard, Sr.; son, Eugene "Gene" Wilson Whichard, Jr.; daughter, Julie Elizabeth Whichard; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, John Stanley Whichard and wife, Jennifer, of Rocky Mount; daughters, Peggy Whichard Sammons and husband, Dean, of Nashville; Cynthia Whichard Sammons and husband, Charles, of Smithfield, VA; and Doris Whichard Johnson and husband, Dr. Mike; of Whitakers; 5 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Elizabeth Taylor Walker of Roanoke Rapids.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Dr. Michael Cloer officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday, September 16, 2016 from 7 - 9 p.m. at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
