Earl J. Manning

Earl J. Manning, 84, passed away June 24, 2016. He was born in Nash County December 28, 1931 to the late Cornelius and Ophelia Ellis Manning. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Johnny Manning and sisters, Etta Mae Morgan and Jean Pipkin.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Myrtle Moss Manning; son, Earl Manning (Rhonda) of Wilson; daughters, Joyce Elaine Whitley (Thomas) of Dortches, Linda Jones (Brian) of Asheville, Cathy Kirk (Mike) of Charleston, SC; brother, Willis Manning (Doreen) of Tarboro; sisters, Florine Davis, Lucille Miles, Gertrude Glover, Shirley Finch (Walter); seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A service will be held 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Lindsay Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
