Plummer Ricks, Jr. of Rocky Mount passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015. He was the son of the late Plummer Ricks and Mary Ricks, born on January 21, 1948 in Rocky Mount. He was preceded in death by his oldest sister, Carolyn Ricks.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Ricks; children, Shelia Ricks Jones (Eric), Michael Ricks (Dalila), Tony Ricks, Jomma Ricks, George Ricks (Jamier), and Maria Ricks; Doris Whitaker and four step-children (Sharon Whitaker Hedgepeth & Keith, Casandra Whitaker, Shwanna Whitaker, and Tobious Whitaker) that Plummer loved as his own; many grandchildren ; two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends; siblings; James Sessoms (Lena), Sidney Ricks (Cathy), Richard Ricks (Nannie), Jacqueline Richardson, Geraldine James (Alphonso), Linda Ricks, Dennis Ricks, James Ricks (Patricia), Marilyn Jackson (Raymond), Jesse Ricks, E-Dunnis Lynch (Shawanda), and Judy Ricks.

Visitation is Wednesday, November 25, 2015 from 12-1 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home of Nashville. Funeral service will be held immediately after visitation at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Pastor Linda H. Taybron officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery of Nashville.
