Roland Moore, age 67, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015. Born in Pitt County on October 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Gilbert Ashley Moore and Lou Ellen Fleming Moore. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jones; his step-father, Joseph Junior Griffin; his grandson, Darren Jay Moore; and his two brothers, John and William Moore.

He is survived by his son, Gilbert Moore (Desaray); one granddaughter; sister, Evelyn Smith (James); brother, George Moore (Lois); and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 3 pm at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Reverend George Howard Moore, Sr. officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service in the mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Roland's memory be made to the charity of your choice.
