GLADYS DAVIS BRYAN

Gladys Davis Bryan, 94, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015.  Born in Edgecombe County on February 11, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Orville Gorham Davis and Lessie Davis.  She was predeceased in death by her husband, Claude Tate Bryan, Jr., in 1981, whom she was married to for 39 loving years.  She was also predeceased by her sister, Louise Fisher and four brothers, Willard Davis, Amber “Pookie” Davis, Gordon Davis and Frank Davis; and her son-in-law, Alan Moore.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Mauney and husband, Marshall of Raleigh, Linda Marks  and husband, Chris of Rocky Mount, Claudia Moore of Red Oak, and Phyllis Griffin, and husband, John of Rocky Mount; sisters, Pat Combs of Rocky Mount, Anita Brinkley of Sharpsburg, and Peggy Newton of Wilson; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Rocky Mount with Dr. Chet Rains officiating.
