NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
REGARDING THE FLOOD DAMAGE PREVENTION ORDINANCE
OF THE TOWN OF NASHVILLE

Notice is hereby given a that joint public hearing before the Town Council and Planning Board will be held on Wednesday, May 29th, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers located at 114 W. Church Street in Nashville, NC for the purpose of giving all interested residents, citizens, and property owners an opportunity to speak for or against the following request:

Z 2013-03: Proposed Amendments to the Town of Nashville Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance. Specifically, this hearing is concerning Updated Flood Maps and other revisions to remain compliant with FEMA regulations.

All interested citizens are invited to attend these hearings and be heard. Information presented at the hearings may result in changes being made to the advertised proposals. Further information on the proposed requests may be obtained at the Planning Department in Town Hall located at 499 Barnes Street, Nashville, NC or by calling 459-4511 ext. 232.

The Red Oak Town Council will hold a public hearing regarding the adoption of the 2013-2014 budget at their regular scheduled meeting on June 3, 2013 at the Red Oak Town Hall.

You may contact the Clerk of Superior Court immediately to ask for a court appointed lawyer. This is a new case, and any lawyer appointed to represent you in another case will not represent you in this case unless the Court appoints that person again. Legal Notice to amend the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance for the Town of Red Oak

ARTICLE 3. GENERAL PROVISIONS.

SECTION A. LANDS TO WHICH THIS ORDINANCE APPLIES.

This ordinance shall apply to all Special Flood Hazard Area within the jurisdiction, including Extra-Territorial Jurisdictions (ETJs) of the Town of Red Oak.

SECTION B. BASIS FOR ESTABLISHING THE SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD AREAS.

The Special Flood Hazard Areas are those identified under the Cooperating Technical State (CTS) agreement between the State of North Carolina and FEMA in its (FIS) dated June 18, 2013 for Nash County and associated DFIRM panels, including any digital data developed as part of the Flood Insurance Study, which are adopted by reference and declared a part of this ordinance. Future revisions to the FIS and DFIRM panels that do not change flood hazard data within the jurisdictional authority of the Town of Red Oak are also adopted by reference and declared a part of this ordinance.
